Join OAR for Impact Day

Parents and grandparents of autistic children founded OAR in 2001 because they believed that research should help people now. They wanted practical research to improve the quality of life for autistic individuals and their supporters, not to study causes and cures.

Today, that mission is more important than ever. At a time when research funding is being pulled back, scientific voices are suppressed, and evidence-based work is sidelined, it is becoming increasingly difficult to answer the questions that truly matter to the autism community.

That’s why we put together OAR Impact Day: From Research to Reality, a free, virtual event that brings OAR’s mission to life by bridging the gap between science and the people it serves. Mark your calendar now for September 25, 2025.

OAR-funded researchers who have transformed their findings into real-world solutions will discuss how their work has made a difference in classrooms, clinics, homes, and communities.

Whether you’re a parent, self-advocate, educator, researcher, or service provider, this event will feature engaging, accessible sessions for everyone. You’ll come away with fresh insights, practical takeaways, and a deeper understanding of how research translates into everyday impact.

Speakers and session details will be announced soon. Pre-register for the event to reserve a spot!

Since 2001, OAR has awarded over $5.3 million to support more than 330 applied studies. Let us show you what those dollars look like in action. Join us on OAR Impact Day to celebrate the progress we’ve made, and to renew our shared commitment to practical research that answers the most pressing questions in our daily lives.
