Meet Brittany Short, New Hire Autism Manager

Since starting at OAR in 2022 as a Hire Autism associate, Brittany Short has had “the privilege of engaging with passionate professionals committed to understanding and improving recruiting and workplace experiences for autistic and neurodivergent individuals.” Now that she has been promoted to Hire Autism manager, Short is excited to continue that conversation and “step into a leadership role where I can have a direct impact on growing partnerships with individuals and organizations that share the vision and mission of the Hire Autism program.”

As manager, Short will oversee all aspects of the Hire Autism program, from strategic planning and partnerships to recruiting volunteers and overseeing the Synchrony Tech Scholarship. 

Short says the work she is doing at OAR is personally meaningful because she has an autistic family member. “Knowing that the program is making a direct impact in the lives of autistic individuals and their support networks is the most rewarding aspect of my role. As someone who supports an autistic family member, I can connect authentically with the community we serve.”
