The World Famous bobby vinton
Bobby Vinton’s story is one of quiet strength, fierce determination, and the healing power of music. Born on May 2, 1977, Bobby’s life began with challenges few could imagine. At just three months old, doctors discovered a brain tumor that led to the removal of his right eye—and a diagnosis of retinal blastoma, a rare genetic condition that left him blind. The world many take for granted was never visible to Bobby, but that didn’t stop him from finding beauty in it.
Through the darkness came more trials. Puberty brought brittle bones and junior osteoporosis, forcing him into a wheelchair for two years and through countless surgeries. At 25, he lost his remaining eye to atrophy. Yet through it all, Bobby never gave up.
He found refuge in sound. The crackle of a vinyl record, the rhythm of a melody, and the voices coming through the radio became his window to the world. Music didn’t just entertain—it gave him a sense of place, of belonging, of hope.
Everything changed when Bobby met Zach Martin of Sophia’s Mission and NEWHD Media. For the first time, someone saw in Bobby what he always felt inside: a deep love for radio and an even deeper voice worth hearing. With guidance, training, and an open door, Bobby became what he was always meant to be—a DJ with a story to tell and a soul that shines.
Today, Bobby Vinton brings that story to the airwaves every Saturday. He isn’t just spinning records—he’s sharing pieces of his life, proving that vision isn’t just about sight. It’s about heart. It’s about purpose. It’s about the courage to be heard.
Because Bobby doesn’t just play the music.
He lives it.
